"NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]"(Hebrews 11:1).
This verse has been preached by many teachers of the Bible, yet we still live in a society that says in their heart, "I must see it to believe it." In order for faith to be properly conceived and incubated, there are firm steps and a core truth that we must establish concerning the realm that faith operates in. This begins with our understanding of the creative power we each have within us as being the children of God.
The uniqueness of man's ability over any other creation is the ability to create life or death by the power of his tongue (Proverbs 18:21). It is with this power that allows us to move into the creative ability that goes beyond the literal dimensions of lines, planes, and cubes. This dimension is why we can talk on cell phones to people on the other side of the world. We can also perceive something about someone in our thoughts that we call intuition or telepathy. This is the path that spiritual people use to create via prayer or meditation. However, the difference in other religions and cults versus the Christian faith is found in the power of salvation and the eternal life we have now through Jesus Christ.
So why are Christians not exercising their inherited gift to bring salvation, healing, and eternal life to others? Even though Christians have read James3:2, "For in many things we all stumble. If any stumbles not in word (the power of life and death in the tongue), the same is a perfect man,able to bridle the whole body also," we are not aware that the location of the speech receptors found in the brain has total dominion over ALL the other nerves of the body! When our language and speech are in line with the mind of Christ Jesus, the head of the body (Col. 1:18), the perfection of His resurrected body in us is transformed into His image.
This begins in the incubation period of the law of Faith. Faith is the substance of clear cut things hoped for. We must know the will of God to pray with expectance and assurance. This takes quality time in seeking not only the Logos of the word of God (head knowledge), but staying in the word of God until it becomes the rhema, or our personal life by the quickening of the Holy Spirit with our spirit. The life that we now live must have the renewed mind of Christ Jesus that knows without doubt that God never fails; God never lacks anything; God never loses a war; God is never sick or in poverty. God is the eternal victor that desires for us to live the abundant Life of Christ Jesus while in our natural body.
Once we know (intercourse knowing) the promises of our Heavenly Father without any doubt or insecurity, we then must seek a peace of why we are desiring those promises; is it for self gain or for unity of the body of Jesus Christ? Just as Queen Esther was willing to give up her life to go before the king with a petition for her people, so we must be willing to have clarity of why we are bringing our prayers before the King of kings and Lord of lords.
After clarity of the promises of God and purpose of those promises, we must be specific in our petition in prayer. When we give prayers of vagueness we are not surrendering our "all" before God, and trusting Him by faith. Instead, we are allowing room for excuses of "what if we don't see it?" Paul tells us in Romans 4:17, "as it is written, I have made you the father of many nations. [He was appointed our father] in the sight of God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and speaks of the nonexistent things that [He has foretold and promised] as if they [already] existed." (AMP).
Have clarity and be specific when you come before God with your prayers. From this position, have a burning desire for this prayer to be answered. Most people do not have passion when they pray. Once they have prayed they leave the prayer behind forgetting about it, so when God has answered them, they don't even recognize the miracle that took place to be able to give God the glory. Be specific and pray with passion. Psalms 37:4 says, "Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart" (AMP).
Thirdly, with the power of praying specific and with passion, we must pray with assurance. "NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for." If you inherited a piece of property left to you in someone's will, and all you knew of this property is that you were handed the title to it, would it be yours because you have the title in your hand, or does it become yours when you physically go and see the property? Seeing the property is only a confirmation of what is already yours. This is how we are to view the promises of God.
We must pray specific, with passion, and with assurance that we have the title deed of that promise, whether we see it or not. Legally, the promises of God are bound to us through our faith in Jesus Christ for "as He is, so are we in this world" (1 John 4:17). If we justify to ourselves that we can't receive God's promises until we die and go off someplace called heaven, we are telling God that the death of Jesus wasn't enough to take away the sins of the world. Think about this for a moment! "But the Scriptures [picture all mankind as sinners] shut up and imprisoned by sin, so that [the inheritance, blessing] which was promised through faith in Jesus Christ (the Messiah) might be given (released, delivered, and committed) to [all] those who believe [who adhere to and trust in and rely on Him]" (Galatians 3:22 AMP).
As believers in Christ Jesus, we are to be exemplifying the evidence of the inheritance we have been given. Not for our own glory, but so that when others see the glorious blessing, we have a testimony to share to them that they too have that same blessing of inheritance because Jesus Christ died once, and for all. "For after that, in the wisdom of God, the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men" (1 Cor. 1:21- 25).
Our fourth step is to speak the word allowing Christ in us to call forth the things which be not as if they were" (Romans 4:17). The Message translation reads, "We call Abraham "father" not because he got God's attention by living like a saint, but because God made something out of Abraham when he was a nobody. Isn't that what we've always read in Scripture, God saying to Abraham, "I set you up as father of many peoples"? Abraham was first named "father" and then became a father because he dared to trust God to do what only God could do: raise the dead to life, with a word make something out of nothing. When everything was hopeless, Abraham believed anyway, deciding to live not on the basis of what he saw he couldn't do but on what God said he would do. And so he was made father of a multitude of peoples. God himself said to him, "You're going to have a big family, Abraham!"
We have many pastors, teachers, evangelists, prophets, apostles, brothers, and sisters in and among the family of God, but very few "fathers." Father's understand the gift of boldness that is launched out by faith. Father's understand that the buck stops with them and they better believe in the reality of the visions and promises of God as leaders and providers for the family allowing the family to be the ones looking for the signs and miracles that the Father already has established by faith in God. Paul says in 1 Cor. 4:15, "For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel." The message translation reads, "I'm not writing all this as a neighborhood scold just to make you feel rotten. I'm writing as a father to you, my children. I love you and want you to grow up well, not spoiled. There are a lot of people around who can't wait to tell you what you've done wrong, but there aren't many fathers willing to take the time and effort to help you grow up. It was as Jesus helped me proclaim God's Message to you that I became your father. I'm not, you know, asking you to do anything I'm not already doing myself."
Included in the process of faith becoming reality in our lives today, we must consider what is found in Ephesians 3:20, "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us." How often do we ask God for something by faith as we pray, and we find the Scriptures to justify our asking, but we don't change our thinking? What is your thinking life like? Do you still think failure, negatively, sickness, impossibility, etc.? James tells us, "A double minded man is unstable in all his ways" (James 1:8)."Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded"(James 4:8).
Often we are quoted the Scripture, "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23), but we have never really given insight to what this sin is that we have failed. Is it because we are born in this world with a flesh body? Is it a nature we received? Is it missing a mark? Is it lying, cheating, stealing, adultery, fornication? What is this sin that we have committed keeping us from the glory of God? And for that matter, according to what the church teaches, what is the glory of God that we supposedly can never obtain until someday we die and go to heaven? Why is the body of Christ stuck in this mindset instead of continuing with what Paul tells us in Romans 5:
"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God" (vs. 1, 2).
"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned :( For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord" (vs. 12-21).
What is the "sin" that has us bound where we fail to receive the inheritance of the glory of God in our lives today? In Leviticus 5:15 (AMP) we read, "If anyone commits a breach of faith and sins unwittingly in the holy things of the Lord, he shall bring his trespass or guilt offering to the Lord, a ram without blemish out of the flock, valued by you in shekels of silver, that is, the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass or guilt offering."
The sin that is holding back the coming of the King of kings and Lord of lords is the fact that the church is living in fear instead of believing by faith who they are today in Christ Jesus. The return of Jesus Christ will come when the bride makes herself ready to receive her groom (Rev. 19:7). Jesus Christ is the head of the body of Christ. He must have a prepared body that speaks and manifests the faith of God while in the flesh being the light of the world, and filling the earth with the manifestation of the glory of God. "Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven final plagues (afflictions, calamities) came and spoke to me. He said, Come with me! I will show you the bride, the Lamb's wife" (Rev. 21:9 AMP).
Right now, we each have all God's power dwelling within us. When we share the Gospel of Jesus Christ we must be the "father" that has the assurance of faith to tap into the endless resources of the promises of God given to us through Jesus Christ our King and Lord. The Lord gave His Life to each of us so that our lives would speak into the atmosphere His prayer:
John 17 (Amplified Bible)
"WHEN JESUS had spoken these things, He lifted up His eyes to heaven and said, Father, the hour has come. Glorify and exalt and honor and magnify Your Son, so that Your Son may glorify and extol and honor and magnify You.
[Just as] You have granted Him power and authority over all flesh (all humankind), [now glorify Him] so that He may give eternal life to all whom You have given Him.
And this is eternal life: [it means] to know (to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, and understand) You, the only true and real God, and [likewise] to know Him, Jesus [as the] Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), Whom You have sent.
I have glorified You down here on the earth by completing the work that You gave Me to do.
And now, Father, glorify Me along with Yourself and restore Me to such majesty and honor in
Your presence as I had with You before the world existed.
I have manifested Your Name [I have revealed Your very Self, Your real Self] to the people whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, and You gave them to Me, and they have obeyed and kept Your word.
Now [at last] they know and understand that all You have given Me belongs to You [is really and truly Yours].
For the [uttered] words that You gave Me I have given them; and they have received and accepted [them] and have come to know positively and in reality [to believe with absolute assurance] that I came forth from Your presence, and they have believed and are convinced that You did send Me.
I am praying for them. I am not praying (requesting) for the world, but for those You have given Me, for they belong to You.
All [things that are] Mine are Yours, and all [things that are] Yours belong to Me; and I am glorified in (through) them. [They have done Me honor; in them My glory is achieved.]
And [now] I am no more in the world, but these are [still] in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, keep in Your Name [in the knowledge of Yourself] those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We [are one].
While I was with them, I kept and preserved them in Your Name [in the knowledge and worship of You]. Those You have given Me I guarded and protected, and not one of them has perished or is lost except the son of perdition [Judas Iscariot--the one who is now doomed to destruction, destined to be lost], that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
And now I am coming to You; I say these things while I am still in the world, so that My joy may be made full and complete and perfect in them [that they may experience My delight fulfilled in them, that My enjoyment may be perfected in their own souls, that they may have My gladness within them, filling their hearts].
I have given and delivered to them Your word (message) and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world [do not belong to the world], just as I am not of the world.
I do not ask that You will take them out of the world, but that You will keep and protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world (worldly, belonging to the world), [just] as I am not of the world.Sanctify them [purify, consecrate, separate them for Yourself, make them holy] by the Truth; Your Word is Truth.
Just as You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. And so for their sake and on their behalf I sanctify (dedicate, consecrate) Myself, that they also may be sanctified (dedicated, consecrated, made holy) in the Truth.
Neither for these alone do I pray [it is not for their sake only that I make this request], but also for all those who will ever come to believe in (trust in, cling to, rely on) Me through their word and teaching,
That they all may be one, [just] as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe and be convinced that You have sent Me. I have given to them the glory and honor which You have given Me, that they may be one [even] as We are one:
I in them and You in Me, in order that they may become one and perfectly united, that the world may know and [definitely] recognize that You sent Me and that You have loved them [even] as You have loved Me.
Father, I desire that they also whom You have entrusted to Me [as Your gift to Me] may be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory, which You have given Me [Your love gift to Me]; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
O just and righteous Father, although the world has not known You and has failed to recognize You and has never acknowledged You, I have known You [continually]; and these men understand and know that You have sent Me.
I have made Your Name known to them and revealed Your character and Your very Self, and I will continue to make [You] known, that the love which You have bestowed upon Me may be in them [felt in their hearts] and that I [Myself] may be in them."
