Come Up Higher

“For the wrath (passion) of God is revealed from heaven against ALL ungodliness and unrighteousness of men (and women), who hold the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse” Romans 1:18-20.

In these verses the Apostle Paul is writing to the Romans. These Scriptures have often been used to justify sinful lifestyles in the world today. Yet, there is a key in these verses that is often not focused on that changes the whole sermon.

Have you ever asked yourself who Paul is referring to when he uses the word “they?” We find the answer in a few verses before when he states, “those that hold the Truth.” Holding the Truth is more than the letter of the law of the Old Testament. Jesus states, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life” (John 14:6).

So if Jesus IS Truth, then those holding the Truth would be those that carry Jesus Christ within them. To have Jesus Christ within us we must believe that He is the Son of God who came to pay the price for our sins on the cross and rose three days later from the grave. We have to desire a personal relationship with the Truth for Truth to be held within us.

Paul further states that those that hold the Truth have the ability to unveil the invisible things of God by the natural things they see. However, Paul establishes that when they knew God, they were intimate with Him in their heart accepting Jesus as their personal Savior and baptized in HIS NAME; they did not let the glory of the union be imparted from them. Instead, they took the NAME to justify and control others professing themselves to be wise, yet they are foolish functioning by their soul instead of by the Holy Spirit in them (Romans 1:21).

They took the glory of God, Christ in them, and created their own imagination of judgment and justice in their own lust and greed within themselves using the NAME of God to justify their actions and attitudes to others. (vs. 22).

These verses are often used to justify a position with Evangelical Christians to point fingers at others for particular sexual orientation. The greatest challenge I see with this is giving ourselves a position of authority to take particular scriptures throughout both the Old and New Testament and try to say, “Thus says the Lord” as their accuser of the brethren. The scriptures were not meant to be divided to justify certain verses pertain to certain people, then use other scriptures to justify ourselves. Paul writes to the Romans that there is no respect of persons with God, and ALL have fallen short of His glory (Romans 2:11, 3:23).

The first step to coming up higher is asking the Holy Spirit to personalize the WORD of God unveiling LIFE in you, and not shifting a scripture to justify issues in someone else.

The next question to present before God is, “What is the glory of God, and what is holding it back from not being imparted in us?” Paul tells us in Colossians 1:27 that the glory of God exists as Christ in us. If Christ is truly in us, then is the world seeing Christ when they see us? Are we seeing Christ in others?

Paul writes to the church in Corinth saying that the love of Christ constrains us so that the judgment seat of Christ can appear with mercy and grace. Since Jesus died for ALL we were ALL dead (2 Corinthians 5:14). Do you know if you’re a believer in Jesus Christ that you have already gone through death, hell, and the grave according to the scriptures?

Those that don’t know Jesus personally are as walking dead men. Those that know Jesus personally, but believe they have a little of Christ now, and get the rest on the other side are like X-men mutants: supernatural Christ in them controlled by a dead man’s body.

Since we that hold the truth that Jesus died for ALL, while each of us were still in darkness, sin, hell, or the unknown; our responsibility is to NOT raise up the past of the old nature to justify seeing sin in ourselves or others, but to cleanse them with the same mercy, grace, and love that God has already unveiled to each believer. The big challenge for many believers is they don’t believe it themselves, so they don’t have it to give to others. They believe that God is constantly judging them, and His love is based on good or bad instead of mercy and grace. John tells us that God judges NO ONE, and that He gave ALL judgment to HIS Son Jesus Christ (John 5).

Our responsibility as new creations in Christ is to release the glory of Christ in us into the world knowing no man – this includes our own soul, after the flesh. All things and people are of God, who has already been reconciled to Himself by Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5).

God is Christ and He is in us giving us His glory by giving us His NAME when we received Jesus as our beloved with intimacy of our heart in oneness. God reconciled the world to Himself. He reclaimed everything, ALL at the cross, not imputing any trespasses to anyone or anything. Then God committed to us the WORD, Christ in us, the ministry of reconciliation. God has so much confidence in us to BE His ambassadors working together in Christ the grace of God releasing the dunamis power of Christ to the unjust, the unloved, the fallen, and those that are living in sin and darkness. As disciples and followers of Christ, we are to unleash the strongholds of captivity and bondage of lies in the world by the same pattern Jesus taught us in His word - love your enemies, pray and bless those that curse you. Forgive the unforgiveable (Matthew 5).

However, many whom acknowledge they are believers in Christ have chosen to change the Truth of God into a lie, and focus on the time and space of sin, past and future, instead of the eternal presence of the Divine hidden in the midst in the present (Romans 1:25). They willingly stay trapped in the regards and opinions of other men, along with the gossip, backbiting, envy, and jealousy in the church system. For this cause of not discerning the Truth – the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the body of Christ, the church will be subjected to their own judgments they have placed on the world bringing sickness and even death into the world that God said was clean (1 Corinthians 11:29-32, Acts 10).

Today, we have a new generation of Christ-ones that the world has not seen until now. They are known as the “why” or “Y” generation that asks the question, “why?” to the traditions of man discerning and separating the TRUTH from the lie. They have been birthed from the “X” generation that was tossed around in a world of confusion, chaos, identity crisis - calling good bad and bad good while seeking escapism to a place called heaven somewhere in the unknown anticipating that the earth will be destroyed soon.

Within this “Y” generation they unveil the NAME of God YHVH. They unveil the existence of their Heavenly Father in a steady state, continuity of the mind of Christ, the heart of God, and the authority brought forth in the hands of the creator’s image of His Divine nature in them. They ARE the fruit of His Spirit.

Your natural eyes may see tattoos, piercings, prostitutes, drunks, drugs, thieves, bums, laziness, lust, sexual perversion, etc. in this “Y” generation. Your judgment may consider hopelessness with the children. However, all of these things we may consider judging as right or wrong, good or bad are simply backdrops of the Divine hidden treasures of fruit. Seek the fruit and there you will find the Father’s DNA.

“But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” (Matthew 5:44-45).

Those we may consider to be our enemies are there to change us, not change them. Our responsibility is to love them in a place that says, “You are bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh.” From this position as new creations in Christ we recognize the love and grace of God in a gravitational power so strong that no strongholds of man’s creation can continue to stand. It is the presence of the Father’s DNA in the “Y” generation that seeks out the unity and oneness of God’s family.

Look for the fruit. Do you see the young woman covered in piercing give her lunch to a homeless man on the streets? This is the fruit of Kindness. This is God in her. How about the transgender person that is the good Samaritan to a drunk giving him a warm bed and some food on a rainy day? This is the Love of God. What about a line of frustrated people waiting for their government support and frustrated on how horrible the government is with what they believe is their entitlement? Yet in the midst of the crowd there is a young man covered in tattoos waiting quietly and calmly. The people distant themselves from him with uncertainty and speculation because of his outward appearance, yet if they would look with spiritual eyes they would see the fruit of Patience.

The Fruit of the Holy Spirit is: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Goodness, Kindness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control. When we see any of these or all of these radiating from ANYONE of any religion, these are seeds of GOD’s DNA (Galatians 5:22-23).

Paul encourages us to be led by the Spirit of God, not by fear. “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God” (Romans 8:14). Love will cast out fear. “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love” (1 John 4:18).

Those that stand out in society as different cause a response of curiosity versus safety of self. These are childlike characteristics that are instilled in each of us. In that childlike state we will seek the response of our mother or father to help with discernment and direction of response to our curiosity. As new creations in Christ we have that same ability. When information knowledge of the world is brought to our attention, we do not have the right to judge, but we do have the right to seek wisdom from our Heavenly Father who is always present in our lives. We do have the right to feel the presence of the Holy Spirits protection at all times in all circumstances allowing the Love of God to direct our path and the words of our thoughts and actions.

While the Apostle Paul was visiting the city of Athens he found an altar with the inscription “TO THE UNKOWN GOD.” For many believers in Jesus Christ this is the realm of their own relationship with God. They know Jesus is the Son of God who died on the cross for their sins and rose from death on the third day, but they limit their heavenly inheritance that is available today, by addressing this TRUTH as their ticket to a place called heaven someplace on the other side. This relationship is no different than a life insurance policy that takes care of self.

Paul addresses the people in Athens with a profound statement that this unknown God to them literally made ALL the world and everything in it. He is the Lord of ALL creation in both heaven and earth. He gives to ALL life, breath, and ALL things making ONE blood ALL nations of men to dwell on ALL the face of the earth together. He did not make a “white, black, or yellow blood.” All blood is the same despite the race, religion, culture, or gender. This God is not found in temples or church builds made with the hands of men. He is not found in the building that has a sign on it that says a particular denomination or religion. Neither does He need the worshipping of men. The heart desire of this God you do not know is not far from anyone including YOU. In fact, if we seek the Lord we will find that we are His offspring. It is IN Him we are alive, moving, and even exist in our present moment in time and space (Acts 17:22-24). Today, God Tabernacles in men (Revelation 21:3).

This is the unveiling of this new generation whom God has chosen to unveil His chosen people. He has brought this generation into the world, ordained to judge the world in His righteousness as TRUE believers in Christ. They are not trying to be the man of Nazareth named Jesus, but the resurrection from the dead of His body as broken bread and poured out wine. They are the Light of the world sent into the world to be the one new man I unity as one body in Christ Jesus – the unveiling of the bride of Christ.

For in the beginning we were with God as the WORD yet to be spoken into form. All things were made by God, and without God it is nothing. It only exists in time and space which changes in the seasons of TRUE LIFE. God never changes and His ways are always TRUTH, always GOD. His ways are always LIGHT filled with color for GOD is LIGHT. Darkness or the unknown has no existence in His presence. “This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all” (1 John 1:5).

The WORD, Christ in us, was made flesh to dwell among men to BE the unveiling of the Father’s glory full of grace and TRUTH (John 1:14). We have permission by God to see the colors of the rainbow in others as LIGHT splits. We have the authority to bless and encourage them to shine. We do not have the command from the Father to judge what is good and evil. If we do, we are telling Jesus He didn’t complete His responsibility on the cross, the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. We are telling Jesus His Life wasn’t enough.

When Christ is truly evident from us for the world to see, the Being of His presence is unveiled. We may be sensitive to the good and evil in the world of sowing and reaping, but our spirits are quickened by the Holy Spirit to move from the cross of the Tree of Knowledge and into the resurrection Life of the Tree of Life so that the fruit of the Holy Spirit flows in the circumstance.

In this position there is no awareness of separation and division that has the judgments of man. Instead, the righteousness of God is released saying,

“I see God in you. I don’t just see the good of man that has potential for the evil of man.”

I see the Goodness of the fruit of the Holy Spirit that speaks saying, “Very Good, excellent, eternal. They have the NAME and seal of God upon them!”

We are ALL children of the Most High God. The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ was a moment in time and eternity that paid the price for ALL. It wasn’t determined by our choice to be children of God. He chose each of us before the foundations of the world were created. Be blessed today with the knowledge and wisdom that the NAME of your Heavenly Father is over all the earth. He is with you today, and will never leave you or forsake you. Listen to the Holy Spirit calling your spirit to come up higher from what your soul and body try to voice and justify. When the soul and body dictate to the spirit of God in the believer, the spirit of Christ will step back letting the lust of the soul and body take over which is unnatural to the Spirit Man of Christ.

“For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise, also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.” (Romans 1:26-32).

Within us as the temple of God, our spirit man is to be directed by the Spirit of Christ as the husband of the temple of God. The soul is to be the wife in submission to our spirit man. When our soul determines our position taking authority over the spirit it is a battle with man to man, or woman to woman within our own body.

The Word of God is more than just teachings of sowing and reaping. The laws of nature are established to unveil that what we sow we will reap. Scripture is LIFE in the individual to come together as LIFE in one body called CHRIST. It was not necessary for Paul to address a sexual or gender issue. He was teaching what Jesus taught. The strongholds from the spirit of pride which came from the religious leaders of his day is compared to Sodom and Gomorrah (Matthew 10:15). Jesus was not speaking to the leaders about their sexual preferences, but how they were justifying God’s WORD for their own self-glory instead of Christ.

“That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world” (John 1:9).

Still waters run deep as Deep calls to deep from the black holes of hell speaking forth in oneness “LET there BE LIGHT.” You are the Light of the world (Matthew 5:14).
